BIO

Marcela Villatoro Quevedo has more than 5 years of experience in the law practice, currently focusing her practice on transactional and corporate law matters, advising and assisting individuals and corporations in Mexico and abroad so that these may carry out any type of business that requires the intervention of Mexican law.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor in Law from Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2019), with Concentration in International Corporate Law.
  • International exchange program “Transnational Commercial Law” at EBS Universität Für Wirtschaft Und Recht located in Wiesbaden, Germany.
  • Diploma in Real Estate Law granted by the Law School Escuela Libre de Derecho.
  • Diploma in Constitutional Trial (Juicio de Amparo), granted by the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice.
  • Successfully concluded the Negotiation Workshop conducted by several Masters in Law from Harvard Law School.
  • Environmental Law Enforcement Course (2024) by Tecnológico de Monterrey.

RELEVANT MATTERS

  • Advised and represented a highly recognized mining company, obtaining a USD $125,000,000.00 financing through a Guaranty Trust.
  • Negotiated and secured a mining contract for a highly recognized mining company, which to date has an annual production of 110,000 ounces of gold.
  • Advised and achieved the closing of several real estate deals for a Mexican developer located throughout the country, including several CEDIS for the business known as “Mercado Libre”.
  • Part of the legal team that achieved the merger project of several Mexican entities, with a commercial value of MXN $330,000,000.00.
  • Currently part of the legal team that represents and advices one of the largest malt companies worldwide, regarding their business located in Mexico.

RECOGNITION AND MEMBERSHIPS

  • Active member of the National Association of Corporate Lawyers known as “ANADE”, Bar Association.
  • Active member of Abogadas MX.
  • Gold medal winner awarded by the synthetic biology competition known as “IGEM” for her legal and economic contributions to the project presented in such contest.
