Mercedes has more than 11 years of experience and focuses her practice on corporate law matters, specializing in mergers, spin-offs, dissolutions, and acquisitions, establishment of foreign companies, corporate restructuring, opening of branches and representative offices, contracts related to all types of corporate activities, corporate governance, corporate compliance, documentation of credits, guarantees, and general financing, transfer of shares, asset sales, legal due diligence, foreign investment, among others.

Likewise, she has extensive experience in the intellectual property area, including the analysis of the viability of registrations, trademark registrations, registration of commercial images, trademark renewals, transfer of trademark rights, registration of commercial images, declarations of use, response to authority requirements, administrative declarations of nullity, declarations of expiration, among others infringement claims

Actively participated in several M&A due diligences and corporate restructuring of several Mexican and foreign companies, as well as counseled clients in stock purchases, spin-offs, and liquidation processes under Mexican Law.

She is also an active member of the Phi Delta Phi Fraternity, Santos Theriot Inn and has participated in the Jalpem Brigades providing legal advice in marginalized communities. Likewise, constantly supports teaching specific classes for the subjects of commercial companies and intellectual property, as well as providing public speaking courses at Universidad de Monterrey.

  • Acted in a $80 million US dollar sale of a Mexican company with foreign investment leader in track and trace labeling for printed circuit boards and electronic components, implementing legal structure required to sell manufacturing operations located in México.
  • Comprehensive Due Diligence of the World leader in rod and wire production, Mexico’s leading producer of long steel and reinforcing steel and Mexico’s largest recycler. recycler.
  • Registered four different commercial images of a Mexican company dedicated to the manufacturing of dairy products.
  • Filed an administrative declaration of violation in commercial matters before the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property against a supermarket chain recognized in the north of the country for the improper and unauthorized use of the image of an individual person, to promote services and dairy products of the supermarket’s own brand.
  • Defended and recovered the trademark of a Mexican company dedicated to the creation of fine pastries and bakery due to the imposition of an expiration procedure filed by its competitors. Acted in the opposition of trademark registration applications against the competition.
