On April 22, 2020, the Tax Administration Service (TAS) issued a press release in which it provides an extension for the filing of the tax return of individuals until June 30, 2020.
In the press release 012/2020 the TAS explained that, in addition to the series of measures of the Safe Distance Initiative, it activated the webpage SAT-ID (satid.sat.gob.mx) so taxpayers could generate or update their password without having to visit the offices of the TAS, facilitating in such manner the filing of individuals’ tax returns in the month of April.
However, although this system was activated, the TAS informed that its electronic platform SAT-ID had been surpassed due to the high demand of taxpayers to generate or update their password.
Consequently, the TAS indicated that individuals may file their tax return until June 30, 2020, promoting in this manner the performance of these procedures from home, respecting the prevention measures issued by the Ministry of Health to confront the COVID-19 epidemic and stimulating online tax collections.
