On May 15, 2025, the National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute (INFONAVIT) published a Notice in the Official Gazette of the Federation, informing the general public about the deadline granted to employers to adjust their internal administrative systems and processes for determining, performing, and reporting deductions from employees’ salaries intended for loan repayments to INFONAVIT, based on the reform to Article 29 of the INFONAVIT Law published on February 21, 2025.
According to this notice, through resolution RCA-14500-03/25 dated March 19, 2025, INFONAVIT’s Board of Directors approved the adoption of a transitional provision recognizing the necessity of establishing a reasonable adaptation period for employers. This period allows employers to implement the necessary technological and procedural adjustments required by the amendment to Article 29 of the INFONAVIT Law regarding deductions from employees’ salaries for INFONAVIT loan repayments, even in cases of absences or disabilities.
The notice specifies that employers must adjust their systems and processes to determine, execute, and report deductions from their employees’ salaries for INFONAVIT loan repayments in compliance with applicable legislation. This provision will be applicable starting from salary payments corresponding to the 4th bimester of 2025, meaning no later than September 17, 2025.
