BIO

Julia has more than 15 years of experience, with a practice focused on international trade, antitrust, and life sciences matters.

Julia has represented parties in antidumping investigations and sunset reviews of countervailing duties before Mexico’s Ministry of Economy. She has developed import and export strategies, including those involving international trade agreements entered into by Mexico with other countries. Her experience also includes advising on customs requirements, non-tariff regulations and restrictions, as well as assisting companies with import-related programs such as the IMMEX Program and Certified Companies schemes.

She has handled merger control filings before Mexico’s National Antitrust Commission and has represented parties in investigations involving cartel and other anticompetitive conduct matters. In addition, she has advised and represented companies on health regulatory matters, including obtaining COFEPRIS approval for the labeling of dietary supplements and vitamin products.

Julia has also counseled companies on the regulatory requirements applicable to the commercialization of cosmetic products, including labeling compliance, and has developed strategies relating to the importation, commercialization, and exportation of products regulated by COFEPRIS. Her experience further includes advising on and obtaining health registrations, import permits, and operational notices before the Mexican health authorities.
