On December 3, 2024, the National Minimum Wage Commission, composed of representatives from the government, labor, and business sectors, unanimously agreed to increase the minimum wage by a total of 12% for 2025.
As a result, starting on January 1st, 2025: The General Minimum Wage will increase from $248.93 MXN per day to $278.80 MXN per day. This increase consists of a 6.5% adjustment plus an additional $12.85 MXN from the Independent Recovery Amount.
The General Minimum Wage in the Northern Border Free Zone, will increase from $374.89 MXN per day to $419.88 MXN per day. This increase consists of a 6.5% adjustment plus an additional MXN $19.36 from the Independent Recovery Amount.
Professional Minimum Wages will also see a 12% increase starting January 1st, 2025.
This information will be officially published in the Federal Official Gazette in the coming days.
