On August 13, the Ministry of Economy published in the Official Gazette of the Federation a new agreement for the interpretation, application, and administration of Chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the USMCA (“Regulations”), regarding the following:
_Rules of origin
_Origin procedures
_Textile and apparel goods
_Customs administration and trade facilitation
It is worth mentioning that the Regulations, in force since August 14, replace the previous ones, published on July 9, 2020.
The agreement is divided into two parts:
- Uniform regulations regarding rules of origin and related provisions for textile and apparel goods (chapters 4 and 6).
- Uniform regulations regarding origin procedures, textile and apparel goods, and customs administration and trade facilitation (chapters 5, 6, and 7, respectively).
