In 2023, some proposals were  prepared to make legal reforms in labor matters, mainly regarding working hours, seniority bonus, year-end bonus, digital work disconnection, and mandatory rest days, which remained in the process of analysis and discussion.

We believe that in 2024, some of them could be approved, considering the impact they may have in an election year.

In brief, here is a description of each of them:

1.-Working Hours:

Reduce the workweek to 40 hours, changing from working 6 days to 5 days a week.

2.-Seniority Bonus:

Increase the bonus amount from 12 to 15 days and decrease the seniority period from 15 to 13 years.

3.-Christmas Bonus:

Increase it from 15 to 30 days.

4.-Digital Work Disconnection:

Optional for workers to answer phone calls, text messages, or emails outside their working hours.

5.-New mandatory rest days:

Thursday and Friday of Holy Week; May 5th and 15th; November 2nd; and December 12th as mandatory rest days.
