The recent implementation of the New Environmental Division —a coordination mechanism among agencies and entities of the Government of the State of Nuevo León— has led to a significant increase in the number and frequency of inspections, particularly by the State Environmental Prosecutor’s Office.
In this context, it is essential that companies in Nuevo León have the main state-level environmental permits, registrations, and authorizations, including:
- Environmental Impact Resolution
- Registration and Management Plan for Special Handling Waste
- Authorizations and collection/disposal receipts for waste transport services
- Annual Operation Reports (COA)
- Studies and logs related to emissions, waste, and wastewater discharges
- Compliance with operating guidelines for stationary emission sources
- Water utility bills or, if applicable, concession titles and wastewater discharge permits
Recommendation:
Conduct a preventive review of your company’s current environmental compliance to:
- Identify missing requirements in a timely manner.
- Reduce the risk of sanctions.
- Be prepared for potential state inspections.
